Dr. Jennifer Smittendorf is a licensed chiropractor dedicated to helping patients optimize their health and biomechanical movement. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During her time at Palmer, Dr. Jen gained hands-on experience at the Palmer College Rehabilitation Center, completing over 450 hours of clinical work.
As a student leader at the center, Dr. Jen had the opportunity to learn and teach various therapeutic techniques, including hands-on adjustments, Activator approach, trigger point therapy, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and nerve flossing. She specializes in creating personalized treatment plans to restore mobility, reduce pain, and promote overall wellness through a combination of these approaches.
Dr. Jen believes in a patient-centered approach, tailoring each treatment plan to address the unique needs of every individual. Her goal is to help patients achieve long-term health and functional movement by using non-invasive, evidence-based chiropractic care.
Dr. Jen has called the Athens, Michigan community home for over 20 years before leaving to attend chiropractic school. She is passionate about staying involved and giving back to the community that supported her. Dr. Jen enjoys volunteering and participating in local events and is currently a member of the Athens Historical Society. She looks forward to further engaging with the Athens area, particularly by supporting local school sports teams. Dr. Jen is excited to return home and give back to the community that helped shape her, offering chiropractic care as a way to support and heal those who supported her.
